Congratulations to Professor Jean Jacques Machado on receiving his Red/Black Belt from Rickson Gracie on June 6/2011.
In 1993 the Gracie’s, a relatively unknown family from Brazil issued a challenge to the fighting world, "we will take on all comers and beat them " to prove that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was the most combat effective ground fighting system in the world.
Then came the birth of the UFC where all fighting systems were given the chance to prove their effectiveness in the octagon. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is now considered a must have skill to compete in the world of Mixed Martial Arts.
Fast forward 17 years to 2000 Windsor Ontario and the Forest Glade Community Center where Ron Dupuis was starting a martial arts program for 4-7 year old "LiL Dragons”. This basic martial arts program has prepared small children to move up into the kids program and produced some of the most dominant young competitors on the Michigan based Elite Federation of Grapplers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament circuit. These young stars are coached and trained by Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt Ron Dupuis owner and Chief Instructor of the Windsor Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy. Ron is the first accredited instructor under World Champion Jean Jacques Machado in Canada.
The Elite Federation of Grapplers awarded the "2009 Competitor of the Year" to Windsor Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu's 13 yr. old Jade Dufour who had blazed thru her division racking up highlight reel submissions and only losing once to her teammate 13 yr. old Zach Cofell who finished right behind Jade picking up a championship belt for himself as well.
Other young stars and division champions from Windsor Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu include 14 yr. old Alex Cofell, 8 yr. old Trevor Cofell, 11 yr. old Nick and 9 yr. old Alex Dufour.
There is no secret to why the Windsor Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu / JJ Machado competition team is considered to be the top team on the EFG tournament circuit. These young competitors train very hard sometimes taking in 5 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes a week. There is one other definite benefit these young champions have, they have the acquired skills to defeat larger stronger opponents on and off the mat. Opponents such as bullies and peer pressure have no chance against these young stars.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu's greatest value is in the skills we teach!
This fun and challenging program is for 8 to 14 year olds and is focused on teaching more Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques, including guard passes, control positions, sweeps and submissions. Children are given the opportunity to practice their newly acquired skills and encouraged to participate in live grappling where safety is our primary concern! Children are not required to complete the LiL' Dragon program to enrol in the Kids program, as we work with all new students upon arrival to ensure they have the basic skills required to succeed in the program.
Added benefits to the children in our program are weight control, increased flexibility and improvements in strength, as well as continued development of self-confidence and self-esteem. For many children, self-confidence does not come naturally. Rather, it is developed over a period of time - as a child accomplishes new goals, his or her confidence level increases. In our class, we see children gain self-esteem as they learn new Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques that they then use in live grappling and in competitions.
We have children who have trained with us for over 10 years, who now assume roles as assistants and help with the LiL' Dragon's and Kid's classes. This allows them to share their knowledge and develop leadership and mentorship skills that they can take with them as they become adults.

We have a large group of female students in all our programs from beginner to advanced levels.
Rates starting at $105.00 / month
